As winter approaches and we celebrate another year gone by, it's a time for all of us to reflect on what we believe most closely and what we will pray for in the coming year.
It's been a year of awakening across faiths on the challenge of climate change. From the amazing words of Pope Francis in his encyclical to the pledges by Jewish and Muslim communities to urge action and the Dalai Lama calling the fight for climate a matter of "survival", leaders are stepping up and making the connection to the moral reasons we must act.
In nearly all faiths, it is understood that our common home, the Earth, is a gift to humanity and that we are charged with keeping it -- for our children and future generations. At the same time, our communities must care for those with the least defense against a changing world. We must care for our brothers and sisters.
Adding strength, love and wisdom to Renew Oregon is how to best bring about the changes needed to protect creation and our way of life. Please give a gift to keep this going.
